How to use Copilot

Copilot is Constrafor's AI Risk Assistant. It finds and flags non-compliant items by comparing results to GC/project/subcontractor insurance requirements, delivering a comprehensive risk management solution.

There are two ways to set up Copilot on your insurance requests: at the Project level and at the Request level. This article will show you both ways, but for convenience, our recommendation is to set up Copilot at the Project level to save you time when sending COI requests.

Setting up Copilot at the Project level

  • Navigate to the COI module and click on the My Projects tab. Select the project you'd like to apply Copilot to.

  • In the box that appears, scroll to the bottom to find the Copilot menu. Click on it to open it. Check all the boxes next to the questions you would like Copilot to review for. These are organized by policy (GL, Auto, Excess, WC). If you'd like Copilot to review for all questions, check Select all questions. Click Save when finished.

This will automatically apply Copilot to all individual COI requests moving forward. This will not apply to any COI requests previously sent if you turn Copilot on after you've sent them out.

Setting up Copilot at the request level

This functions the same as the steps above, with the exception of adding Copilot when sending a request.

  • In the Certificates tab, follow the steps as if you were creating a normal COI request. When you scroll to the bottom of the box, you can click on Copilot to open up all the questions to select. See step above for further details. When you are finished, click Requests.

Please note that insurance requirements MUST be added to the Project/Request in order for Copilot to work. Without standard requirements, the Copilot has nothing to base its review on and will not be able to run.

After Copilot has completed its review

  • Once Copilot has completed its review, it will provide a Compliant/Non-compliant overall response of your subcontractor's insurance documents at the bottom of the page. You will be able to open up each question to read what it had to say, where it found that information, and the score it provides (either a green check or red x, highlighted)

  • If you disagree with the Copilot's answer for any or all questions, feel free to click either the green check or the red x. This will help train the AI to improve its review capabilities moving forward.
